Family Resource Fair at PS14
In October, we had the incredible opportunity to participate in a Family Resource Fair at P.S. 14 in Corona, New York. It was a heartwarming event dedicated to fostering community connections and supporting the United Community of Schools Initiative. Our mission was simple yet powerful: bring families together through the joy of board games while contributing to the identification of unmet needs in schools and communities.
As families gathered, laughter and excitement filled the air. Our booth, quickly became a hub of shared experiences and quality time. Parents, children, and community members came together to enjoy the simple pleasure of playing games, transcending age barriers and creating lasting memories.
The United Community of Schools initiative, strives to identify unmet needs within schools and communities. It resonates deeply with our commitment to building stronger, more connected community. Board games, with their ability to promote communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, serve as a catalyst for community engagement and collaboration.
As we packed up our games at the end of the day, the smiles on the faces of families lingering around the table spoke volumes. It was a reminder that, sometimes, the most profound impact comes from the simple act of coming together, sharing experiences, and supporting initiatives that aim to strengthen our communities.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone that makes P.S. 14 a welcoming school and to all who joined us at the Family Resource Fair, contributing to a day filled with joy, connection, and a shared commitment to building a united and thriving community.
