Tabletop Charity Game Day
In partnership with BGA: Board Gamers Anonymous, a media network dedicated to welcoming everyone to the table, Board Games for the Better will be hosting a Tabletop Charity Game Day on November 4th in Fanwood, NJ. All members of the community are welcome! We especially invite those who have been historically uninvited to the gaming table.
This event will have:
Games to play for people of all ages
Tables for participants to buy, sell, and trade their games
Open gaming and events
Raffles and auctions
Donations include 10$ to play games at the event, 20$ for a table to sell/trade your games. Proceeds from the event will go to Girl Scouts of America’s Troop 6000, a troop based in NYC that serves girls and families living in temporary housing in the New York City shelter system.
The primary goal of this event is to encourage more women and girls to get involved in the wonderful world of tabletop gaming. For too long, they have been missing from the gaming table. With this event and many others to follow, we seek to ensure that everyone has a game that represents who they are, the support needed to join us at the table, and the inspiration to become part of our great industry. As passionate advocates for the hobby and the positive impact it can have on people’s lives, we believe that diversity and inclusivity are essential in making tabletop gaming a truly enriching experience for everyone.
In addition to inviting the local community of gamers, we will be welcoming VIP guests from local Girl Scouts of America troops. These young girls are eager to explore the world of tabletop gaming, and we want to provide them with a memorable experience. We will have a community of teachers, mentors, and special guests to embrace these new gamers. Each of these VIP attendees will also receive a gift in the form of a board game to kickstart their journey into the larger tabletop gaming community.
