Celebrating at PS14: A Day of Fun and Games with Board Games for the Better

At Board Games for the Better, we believe in the power of games to bring joy, build connections, and create lasting memories. Recently, we had the privilege of participating in a heartwarming event at PS14 in Corona, NY, where we witnessed the magic of play firsthand.

The occasion? PS14's Winter Festival, a celebration to honor the entire third-grade class for their outstanding attendance. With approximately 200 students participating throughout the day, the atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation.

As proud supporters of community engagement and education, we were thrilled to be invited to the Winter Festival. With an array of dexterity games, including Klask, A Game of Cat and Mouth, Suspend, Jenga, Kluster, Acrobat, and even Giant Sorry, we were ready to provide a day filled with laughter and fun.

From the moment the students arrived, we were greeted with eager smiles. It was clear that they were ready to let loose and enjoy themselves after their hard work and dedication to attendance.

Watching the students immerse themselves in the world of board games was truly heartwarming. Whether they were carefully strategizing their next move in Suspend or giggling uncontrollably as they tried to “out-fling” their opponent in A Game of Cat and Mouth, each moment was filled with joy and camaraderie.

But the fun didn't stop with the students! We were delighted to see teachers, teacher aids, and parent volunteers join in on the action, proving that games truly have the power to bring people together across all ages and backgrounds.

As the day came to a close, we couldn't help but reflect on the impact that our games had on the students and other participants. Not only did the games provide a welcome break from the daily routine, but they also fostered connections, teamwork, and a sense of accomplishment.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to PS14 for inviting us to be a part of their Winter Festival. It was an honor to witness the joy and excitement firsthand, and we look forward to many more opportunities to spread the power of play in our communities.
